FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL
Joe Famiglietti
Security leadership grounded in experience—not theory.
Joe Famiglietti founded InfoSec LI after more than 25 years working across enterprise IT, information security, security engineering, governance, and security leadership. His experience has been shaped largely in banking, financial services, and other high-stakes environments where security decisions must withstand operational pressure, regulatory scrutiny, and real-world threats.
BUILT THROUGH EXPERIENCE
More than 25 years across technology, security, and leadership.
The ability to lead security effectively starts with understanding how technology actually operates. Joe’s career has spanned enterprise infrastructure, security architecture, engineering, operations, governance, risk, incident readiness, and executive security leadership.

CISO TO CONSOLE
Strategy to execution.
One of the principles behind InfoSec LI is that security leadership should not stop at the boardroom. Strategic recommendations need to survive contact with the systems, teams, budgets, and operational realities responsible for implementing them.
That means being able to discuss cyber risk with executives and boards—and then work directly with internal IT teams, MSPs, engineers, and technology partners to turn those priorities into working controls.

PRACTITIONER PERSPECTIVE
Security expertise is more than a product catalog.
Effective security leadership requires understanding how infrastructure, identity, endpoints, cloud platforms, monitoring, governance, and business operations interact in the real world. Technology and certifications matter—but judgment is built by designing, operating, defending, and improving security programs over time.
InfoSec LI brings that practitioner perspective to every engagement. Recommendations are driven by risk, architecture, operational reality, and business need—not by a requirement to sell a particular security product.
Independent advice. Hands-on engineering. No product quota.
THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND INFOSEC LI
Build capability—not dependency.
The goal of an InfoSec LI engagement is not to make an organization permanently dependent on a consultant. It is to leave the client with a stronger environment, a defensible security program, repeatable processes, and a team that better understands how to operate and improve security over time.
Secure the environment. Build the program. Enable the team.

Why build InfoSec LI?
Many small and midsize organizations face serious cybersecurity obligations without the resources to maintain large, specialized security organizations. InfoSec LI was created to bring enterprise security experience directly to those businesses—without unnecessary complexity, oversized tool stacks, or enterprise-scale overhead.
The objective is practical security: understand the risk, prioritize what matters, implement what works, document it properly, and make sure the organization knows how to operate it.
